Established in 1887 this event is the beginning of the opening of the Oktoberfest every year. Thousands of people are in the streets to watch it.

The procession consists of the carriages of the landlords, carriages of the breweries, the bands of the tents, and the waitresses and waiters. At the top of the celebration is the symbol of Munich, the so called “Münchner Kindl”. The mayor of Munich follows her.

On the wagons of the procession are not only the landlords, their families, and their friends, but also many prominent German speaking people.
