
The Hall of Resunding Fame was built from1843 to 1853 next to the Therese Meadow by order of King Ludwig I. Its function was the tribute to important Bavarian characters which rendered outstanding services to the country or the science. Leo von Klenze designed the inner part of the three-winged hall with the colums where the busts were set and are set again since 1966.
Ludwig Schwanthaler conceptualized the technical masterpiece of the Bavaria with a height of 18,52 m. Ferdinand von Miller casted it. In the head of the statute there is an observation deck.
